OK, let's do a little visualization. Imagine that it's the middle of winter. The weather report last night said that you might get snow overnight. It's now the next morning, and you're looking out the window with a cup of coffee in your hand, a blank stare on your face, and you're wondering how long it's going to take you to clean the knee deep snow from your driveway so that you can get out there and fight with traffic today! Then you hear the kids screaming in the other room and you think, "Now what?" You rush into the room to find out what else could go wrong with today.
To your surprise, your daughter and son are screaming for joy? They can't wait to get their ski pants and parkas on so they can go outside to make snow angels and play, in the knee deep snow!!
Change your world
Coaching and team development can help you to view things from another perspective. Sometimes it's subtle; sometimes it's radically different from where you are right now. Both realities in the story above are concurrent and completely valid from either perspective.
You can choose to see all of the things you believe you're not, or haven't been; or, you can choose to see all of the things you are, or have been. Both perspectives exist in every moment; which do you choose right now?
On our balance page, we describe how rock climbing partners or spotters often help by providing a different and valuable perspective than you. What is the first thing that comes to your mind that you could look at differently and change your world?
